Esdigy is the web log of Rev. Michael T. Ramey, an ordained Southern Baptist pastor and 1997 graduate of Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.  Sadly, the degrading condition of the American Church makes it harder and harder for solidly Biblical, conservative (and especially reformed) pastors to find a church to serve. I myself am blessed not to be out of work over this – I currently serve parentalrights.org as director of communications and research, and before that made my living as a painter – but my heart goes out to those faithful pastors who are.

I served as a minister of music and youth for twelve years, and really enjoy both of these areas (music and young people).  I also enjoy languages (my undergrad degree is in Spanish; I also speak French, as well as Biblical Hebrew and Greek). And I have a passion for freedom, currently focused on the freedom of parents to direct the education and upbringing of their children, and the liberty of our children to be raised by free parents as we were.

Most importantly, I value the family God has given me — a beautiful wife and two daughters.  My first and greatest calling is to them.
